Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God – January 1st

Not only is January 1st the beginning of the New Year in the Lord 2019, it is also the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics. Let us offer our worship and thanks to God at the Mass on January 1st as our way to surrender ourselves, our families, parish, city, state, country and world to God’s goodness as we begin the new calendar year, especially through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
